Position Title:    STUDIO LEAD

Reports to:         STUDIO MANAGER

Job Location:     563 Artisan Lane, Bowen Island, BC

Works with:        Studio Manager + Assistants

Wage:  $24 - $26 an hour /  9:00 am - 4:30 pm / 3-4 days a week

 

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Studio Manager, the Studio Lead is responsible for supervising Studio Assistants and supporting the product fulfilment function of the company. The position leads communication and support to online customers, supports the processing of wholesale orders and our relationships with wholesale/hospitality clients, and ensures the studio environment is suitable for productive and efficient work. The Studio Lead covers the duties of the Studio Manager when they are absent, on vacation, etc. The Studio Lead possesses solid organizational skills as well as a strong attention to detail.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  •       Supervise part-time Studio Assistants by delegating tasks and training new/seasonal team members
  •       Support the organization of part-timer schedules
  •       Support the processing of wholesale orders by creating invoices, coordinating with the sales and productions teams to fulfill orders, processing shipping labels, packing parcels, and working with shippers to arrange shipments for timely delivery
  •       Leads communication with and support to online customers, including resolving customer issues that may arise
  •       Support the Studio Manager in communicating with buyers and wholesale/hospitality clients
  •       Fostering customer relationships through product education in-shop and via email
  •       Responsible for organization and cleanliness of overall studio environment (e.g., booking cleaners, delegating tasks to Studio Assistants, etc.)
  •       Supports the Studio Manager and Finance & Administration Manager in meeting health and safety requirements
  •       Assist the Studio Manager with administrative projects (e.g., reports, special projects)
  •       Cover the duties of the Studio Manager when they are absent, on vacation, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  •   High school diploma, supported by ongoing professional development, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  •  Minimum 1-2 years of recent related experience 
  •  Experience in staff supervision
  •   Proficient in the use of word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email (in Google Sheets / Docs and workspace and Mircrosoft Office)
  •  Proven diplomacy, tact, empathy and understanding of sensitive / confidential issues
